When not being assessed, your jewellery is securely stored in our safe.

How Long Does a Valuation Take?

Standard Service

• Valuations typically take 4-7 working days.

• For 10+ items, we will provide a custom timeframe upon drop-off.

Priority Service

• Completed in 1–2 days.
• Priority valuations must be booked at least two working days in advance.
• Items dropped off by 10am

Valuation Process (Step-by-Step)

Initial Assessment – Items are logged and checked

Upon arrival at our Office Level 3/257 Collins street
Discuss the purpose of your valuation and conduct an initial assessment.
Note any immediate concerns, such as wear & tear or damaged gemstones.
Issue a receipt, including:
• Your contact information.
• A brief item description.
• The valuation type and expected completion date.

Cleaning & Testing – Stones and metals are verified

Ultrasonic cleaning removes dirt that may obscure gemstone grading.
Gemstone testing confirms if diamonds and gemstones are natural or synthetic.
Metal purity testing (XRF or acid test) determines the metals.

Detailed Analysis – Diamonds and gemstones graded with precision

Diamond Grading – Evaluated using the 4Cs (Colour, Clarity, Cut, Carat).
Gemstone Grading – Assessed based on colour, inclusions, and cut quality.
Carat Weight Calculation – Measured with tools or formulas.

Report Issued – A professional valuation report is prepared

Mount Quality & Craftsmanship – Evaluated based on material, manufacturing method and setting quality.
Final Valuation Includes:
• Diamond & gemstone value
• Metal purity & weight
• Manufacturing quality
• Finishing, polishing & plating

Delivery & Client Review

Detailed Documentation – A full written item description is recorded in the valuation report.
Photograph – Jewellery is photographed for documentation.
Secure Storage – All items remain in our safe until collection.
